Vets Choice responds to call from Jacaranda 94.2

2005.08.15

When Alison Bourbier, Brand Manager of Vets Choice premium dog food, heard a plea to help Agnes Debe on Jacaranda 94.2’ she responded without hesitation.

Good Morning Angel, held every Wednesday morning on Kieno’s breakfast show, which all listeners know always brings tears to their eyes, aims to expose listeners to the difficulties others face in their daily lives. This time a plea came from Marianne de Wet who called the station to explain how her employee, Agnes Debe, sadly lost four of her five daughters and a granddaughter to illness over the last eighteen months. On top of that, Agnes, who is a dog lover, found all three her dogs poisoned in her garden in June this year, one of which she had for nearly 20 years.

This touched the hearts of many listening, including Wet Nose in Tshwane who, after hearing that Marianne would buy two cross Husky Alsatian puppies for Agnes, offered to donate Feisty, a lovable two year old mixed breed.

Vets Choice offered to donate premium dog food so that Agnes would not have to worry about feeding her new family members.

The handover of the dogs and food took place at Jacaranda 94.2 on 15 August 2005 and tears of happiness once again overwhelmed everyone present.
